Samsung is planning to bring its S Pen stylus to more Galaxy smartphones. The company announced this during the Galaxy S21 Unpacked press event, after confirming that the Galaxy S21 Ultra supports the S Pen.
The Galaxy S21 Ultra became the very first Galaxy S-branded smartphone to do so. It's also the first non-Galaxy Note to have such support. It is worth noting that the S Pen does not ship with the device, though, and it doesn’t exactly offer the same functionality as the latest Note devices.
Samsung's S Pen is coming to more Galaxy smartphones
I digress, you can read more about the Galaxy S21 Ultra and its S Pen here. Having said that, Samsung did officially confirm that it will bring S Pen support to more Galaxy smartphones, but didn’t share the details.
This is what exactly the company said: “We’ve made the bold decision to expand the S Pen experience to Galaxy S21 Ultra, and plan to expand the S Pen experience across additional device categories in the future.”
This is a clear indication that we’ll see the S Pen in future phones. The first device that comes to mind is the Galaxy Z Fold 3. That handset has been rumored to include the S Pen for quite some time now.
The Galaxy Z Fold 3 is probably the next device to get S Pen support
If rumors are to be believed, not only will it support it, like the Galaxy S21 Ultra, but it will ship with one, like the Galaxy Note series. That would make perfect sense considering how much screen real estate the Galaxy Z Fold 3 will offer.
If the Galaxy Note 21 ever becomes a reality, it will ship with a stylus as well, for sure. Considering that Samsung is offering the S Pen support on the Galaxy S21 Ultra, it’s safe to assume that some of the future S series devices will offer it as well.
In fact, Samsung may bring the S Pen to more than one Galaxy S22 handset next year. We’re only guessing here, of course, but it could easily happen. The company probably won’t go into details anytime soon, though.
