As 2021 has begun and we have crossed the halfway mark of the first month, new smartphone leaks are now pouring in. The latest leaked image by Chinese leakster WhyLab on Weibo gives us our first look at the Asus ROG Phone 3 successor.

It is unclear what this new ROG Phone will be called. Since number 4 is considered bad luck in China, we assume that this smartphone will skip numeric 4 and will be called Asus ROG Phone 5.

But, hey! There is always a first time for everything. Asus has already confirmed that it will be bringing the successor to its gaming smartphone, the Asus ROG Phone 3 this year very soon.

The live images not only showcase the phone but also highlights some key details about the device. Notably, the leaked image shows the back of the upcoming Asus ROG Phone 3 successor.

According to the image, the upcoming phone might sport a redesigned rear panel. Besides, if you look closely at the image, you will see the number ’05’ at the back panel, meaning that it will indeed be called Asus ROG Phone 5.

At the bottom left corner, the ROG (Republic of Gamers) logo is visible. There is a white stripe in the middle of the rear panel. We assume that this white stripe will light up when the phone is on.

There is a red button at the bottom left corner of the handset in the leaked image

Interestingly, there is a bright red color button located at the bottom left corner of the upcoming handset. While we are not sure what it is, we speculate that it is the button that would activate gaming mode.

The camera module is also visible in the leaked images of the Asus ROG Phone successor. It may come with a triple camera setup with a 64MP primary lens.

The upcoming ROG Phone with model number ASUS_I005DA was also spotted on the website of China’s 3C certification body. And as per the listing, the ROG Phone will come with 65W Fast Charging.

Taking into consideration that its predecessor, the ROG Phone 3, supported 30W charging while Samsung’s latest flagship, the Galaxy S21 lineup supports 25W, this is a serious boost.

We are not entirely sure whether this leaked image of the upcoming ROG Phone 3 successor is true because it does not come from a trusted source. So, we suggest you take this report with a pinch of salt.

While there is no information on when Asus is planning to release the next phone in the ROG Phone lineup, it is expected to be launched in China by March-end or early April.
