The LG UltraGear GP9 soundbar fuses ultra gaming immersion with convenient communication, earning it the Best Of CES award

There are few things more exciting in gaming these days than an extremely immersive experience, and the LG UltraGear GP9 soundbar aims to deliver that and more which is why it won our Best Of CES Award for 2021.

LG is no stranger to the gaming industry, but it’s certainly ramped up its efforts in the space in recent years. At this year’s (virtual) CES trade show, LG showed off one of its latest gaming products with the UltraGear GP9, its first-ever soundbar that was designed specifically for gamers.

It’s jam-packed with nifty features that any gamer would love. But the most impressive feature is the built-in mic.

LG specifically added a built-in microphone for voice chat

Whether you’re a more casual gamer or a hardcore gamer that’s going on weekly raids with your clan/guild, voice chat is an important tool.

Sometimes it’s not a tool at all, but just a fun way to converse with other players. Either way, LG wants the GP9 to be your go-to audio option when needing or wanting to use voice chat. Speakers with built-in mics aren’t really new. But a soundbar with a built-in mic for this specific purpose is.

LG says the mic is capable of providing users with clear and concise voice commands during critical moments. While also ensuring that voices take precedent over in-game audio. That way your teammates aren’t drowned out by noises from the game and vise versa.

If you struggle with comfort while wearing headsets, the UltraGear GP9 from LG provides a way to keep communication open without that discomfort factor.

The UltraGear GP9 is battery operated which makes it ultra portable

If the built-in mic wasn’t enough, LG also designed this soundbar to be battery operated. The battery of course is built-in. Just like it would be with a headset. So you don’t have to swap out batteries every six months.

This portability makes this an extremely versatile audio option no matter if you’re gaming at home or elsewhere. And because it doesn’t have to be plugged in, you don’t have to worry about taking up outlets when away from home.

As added bonuses, the soundbar comes with customizable RGB lighting, and a large dial on top for adjusting audio levels. There’s more to this soundbar than what we’ve listed here. But these are the main reason why it won our award for Best Of CES this year.
