Samsung continues to grow its SmartThings platform steadily. The industry has known about the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag for awhile. Now, 91mobiles has the first look at the Galaxy Smart Tag design. The smart object tracker has been inching closer to release lately.

91mobiles previously reported that the price of the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag will be 15 EUR in Europe. That is about $18 dollars here in the United States. 91mobiles points out that industry insider Ishan Agarwal spotted a gif and photos of the Smart Tag design within the SmartThings app. A few days ago, a listing on the South Korean certification authority website was spotted. The design seems similar to the ones in the listing.

The tracker will have a rounded square shape that is similar to what the Tile smart tracker offers. Moreover, the design shows a circle in the middle that could be a button. The button could be used to locate a connected phone to cause a sound to be emitted. This will make finding a misplaced device easier.

Previous rumors pegged the Galaxy Smart Tag to come in Black and Oatmeal options. The tracker is Bluetooth v5.1 certified. This will help with energy consumption so the tracker doesn’t drain your device’s battery too quickly. The Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag seems to be inspired by the Tile tracker. The tracker from Samsung is rumored to utilize the Samsung SmartThings app to allow tracking of any object the tracker is attached to.

Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag may release alongside the Galaxy S21 Family

Currently, the release date for the Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag is still unknown. Recently leaks have continued to trickle in which could mean its launch is close. The smart tracker could release alongside the Samsung Galaxy S21 family according to rumors.

As a result of this rumor, the Samsung Galaxy SmartTag could be released as soon as January which is when the Samsung Galaxy S21 is rumored to be unveiled. Usually, Samsung announces the Galaxy S series around the end of February. But with Huawei’s recent troubles producing their smartphones, Samsung is looking to steal away some of Huawei’s users.

Once announced the Samsung Galaxy S21 family will have offer three options. There will be the Samsung Galaxy S21, the Samsung Galaxy S21+, and the Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra. This is similar to the release of the Samsung Galaxy S20 series. Now, this time around the new devices may be accompanied by the new Samsung Galaxy Smart Tag.
