Tomorrow, HBO MAX will be available on Amazon's Fire TV devices. Which means that the only platform left for HBO MAX to join is Roku. And that likely won't be too far down the road.
This is a big deal for both HBO MAX and Amazon's Fire TV platform. The two sides – WarnerMedia and Amazon – have been in talks for months to bring the service to Fire TV. Considering HBO MAX was missing on the two biggest platforms when it launched earlier this year, it really held back its subscriber numbers. Now that it's on the second largest platform, those numbers should increase significantly.
There's a ton of great content available on HBO MAX, including The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air reunion which is going to debut later this week. That's something that fans have been asking for, for literally decades. As the show's six-season run ended in 1996. And the cast hasn't really been back together since then. There's also South Park, Veep, Game of Thrones and much more.
How do I get HBO MAX on Fire TV?
If you're already subscribed to HBO in any matter, you'll get HBO MAX at no extra charge. Just make sure to upgrade your account to HBO MAX.
Then you'll be able to ask Alexa to find HBO MAX, or you can find it in the Amazon App Store on your Fire TV device. HBO MAX is not yet part of Amazon Prime Channels, but that might change in the future.
And that's about it. HBO MAX does cost $14.99 per month, the same as regular HBO. However, you are getting a whole lot more content here, as you're getting the entire Time Warner library of content too. Or at least the content that is not licensed out to other streaming services like STARZ, Netflix, etc.
