SanDisk, the Western Digital-owned company, has launched two new wireless charging accessories called the SanDisk Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync and Ixpand Wireless Charger 15W.

First and foremost, the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync is not just your traditional wireless charging pad. As the name suggests, it can backup all your contacts, photos, and videos while the device is getting charged wirelessly. It is available in 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB storage capacities.

This is particularly useful for those who record longer duration videos in 4K resolution. Also, most of these new-gen smartphones lack the MicroSD card slot for storage expansion. To let the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync take a backup, users need to install the SanDisk Ixpand Charger app available on the Google Play Store and the Apple App Store.

It also supports multiple backup profiles

SanDisk also added support for multiple backup profiles, so everyone in the family can backup their smartphones. That being said, it only comes with 10W wireless charging support. The Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync is compatible with all Qi-enabled devices.

It can even charge smartphones with cases as long as they're 3mm thick or less. In terms of size, the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync measures 100.25mm in width and 201.39mm in length. At 19.51mm thick, it is also thicker than most other wireless charging pads available in the market.

The company is also providing a power adapter with a 1.8m long cable in the package. Additionally, there is a MicroUSB port for connecting it to a PC for using it as a regular storage drive. Speaking of the Ixpand Wireless Charger 15W, it lacks the backup functionality but supports fast wireless charging.

Both these new wireless charging pads come with safety features like temperature control and adaptive charging. The foreign object detection feature will ensure that the wireless charging pad doesn't turn on when items like coins or keys are kept on the charging surface.

The company is also providing 2 years of warranty for these new SanDisk wireless charging pads. Coming to the pricing, the Ixpand Wireless Charger Sync starts at $99.99 and is already available on the Western Digital Store, Amazon.com, and select retailers.
