A new firmware update is live for the Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2. The update, notably, brings the Galaxy Watch 3 voice guidance feature during exercise for the Galaxy Watch Active 2.

This is one of the premium features of the Galaxy Watch 3 that is now available for the Galaxy Watch Active 2. Now, with the help of this feature, users will have voice support during their exercise regime.

Note that this voice guidance feature was exclusive to the newer model. However, this new update adds and brings support to the older Galaxy Watch Active 2 as well.

During this current pandemic scenario, many people are working out and exercising from their homes. And this voice guidance feature on the Galaxy Watch Active 2 is definitely a nice add-on.

Users of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 can listen to the voice played during the workout through their connected Bluetooth earphones. Voice support will also give details about walked distance and heart rate.

Moreover, you can set a goal and the voice coach will tell you whether you are doing good or not. It will also guide you to either pick up the pace or slow down as per your set goal.

The Galaxy Watch Active 2 voice guidance update is available only in South Korea

The update is arriving with version number R820XXU1CTJ5. It is good to see Samsung providing a coach assistance feature for free for all its Galaxy Watch Active 2 users.

On the other hand, company's like Fitbit are asking their users to pay for the Coach assistance features. Apple, Garmin, and Fitbit do not offer this coaching assistance feature for free.

Now, there is much more to the update for the Galaxy Watch Active 2 than just the voice guidance feature. It also adds stability to the overall functions and fixes minor bugs.

The Watch Active 2 is already loaded with features like fall detection, VO2 max, advanced running analysis, AR Emoji, Bitmoji, and scroll capture features. The update is reportedly live for the users in the country of South Korea. However, Samsung is expected to expand this new update to other regions soon.

Thankfully the new update puts the Galaxy Watch Active 2 somewhat on par with the premium watches. Apparently, this new update is available for the Bluetooth version of the Samsung watch.

The update weighs in around 61.39 MB in size. In order to update, head to the Galaxy Wearable app, and then tap Watch software update > Download and install.
