According to a new piece of information that just surfaced, the OnePlus Watch has been postponed, indefinitely. This information comes from Max J., a well-known tipster.
Max J. is usually spot on when it comes to OnePlus information, so chances are this is accurate. He was actually the one who teased the arrival of the OnePlus Watch a while back, but it seems like that won’t happen anytime soon.
According to a post he shared on ‘Voice’, the OnePlus Watch launch has been postponed “without any new date”. He’s not sure what the reason is behind this move, but it’s possible that some complications arose in the production or software development.
Some people expected this watch to launch alongside the OnePlus 8T, but that didn’t happen. The watch was expected to arrive in the near future, but it seems like we’ll have to wait a bit longer.
The OnePlus Watch has been postponed, but it may arrive alongside the OnePlus 9
There’s still a chance it will arrive with the OnePlus 9 series in mid-2021, but we’re only guessing. As a reminder, this smartwatch is expected to feature a round body and display.
The OnePlus Watch, when it becomes official, it will, almost certainly, ship with WearOS. OnePlus will personalize its software offering on top of WearOS, as OPPO did with the OPPO Watch.
Chances are that this smartwatch will be made out of metal. It will probably also ship with thin bezels around the display. We really don’t have any more information about it. Some new info may surface in the coming weeks / months, though.
OnePlus had recently launched three smartphones, and it’s possible a special edition OnePlus 8T will follow at the end of the year or in early 2021. From that point on, the OnePlus 9 is the next big launch the company is planning. We’re still not sure where will the OnePlus Watch fit in, and it seems like OnePlus isn’t either.
