Android 11 Rolling Out To OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro With OxygenOS 11

OnePlus 8 Android 11 stable

Android 11 is now rolling out to the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, along with OxygenOS 11. This is the very first stable build for the two smartphones, after several Open Beta builds rolled out.

Do note that the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro are the company’s first smartphones to get Android 11. The OnePlus 8T, which will launch in two days, will ship with Android 11 as well, though. It will become the company’s first phone to ship with Android 11 out of the box.

Both Android 11 & OxygenOS 11 bring quite a few changes to the OnePlus 8 & 8 Pro software

This update brings quite a few changes to the company’s current flagships. Android 11 is not a huge overhaul of Android, but it does bring some welcomed improvements. OxygenOS 11 on its own also brought some new stuff to the table.

We’ve talked about Android 11 changes extensively on numerous occasions. You’ll get some new notification shade features, your ‘Conversations’ section will not always be at the top, while the rest of your notifications below it.

Android 11 also improves security and privacy, and so on. OxygenOS 11 changes are what matters here. This update will bring AOD (Always-On Display) to your OnePlus 8 (Pro). On top of that, you’ll get the brand-new one-hand friendly UI.

A shortcut key for Dark Mode is now available in the Quick Settings, while you can force dark mode to more apps that don’t support it. ZenMode has been improved as well, as have a ton of other apps from the company, such as OnePlus Gallery, for example. All the company’s apps are now much easier to use with one hand.

The company has also added a new mis-touch prevention feature that you can enable in Game Space. Several other changes have been added to Game Space, by the way.

The update is already rollout out OTA

You can check out more details in the company’s official changelog by clicking here. Do note that this update is rolling out OTA (Over The Air), but it may not roll out to everyone straight away.

Some of you may get it soon, or already did, while others will have to wait a couple of days. Another thing to note is that your battery has to be charged to at least 30-percent before you update, and you’ll also need 3GB of free space.
