Huawei has announced its most prominent smartwatch to date, the Watch GT 2 Pro. This smartwatch got announced during the company’s HDC (Huawei Developer Conference) today.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro did leak several times in the last couple of weeks. The information that leaked was mostly accurate. This smartwatch does offer wireless charging, and its design leaks were also accurate.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro comes with a titanium body, and offers 2-week battery life

The watch is made out of metal (titanium), and it comes with a silicone strap. It is the very first ‘GT’ smartwatch from Huawei to offer wireless charging, and it also sports a circular body and display.

The watch is also supposed to offer a 2-week battery life with regular usage. From what we’ve seen from the first and second-gen GT watches, that is quite possible.

This smartwatch comes with over 100 workout modes to choose from. It also caters to a diverse range of extreme sports, leisure activities, water sports, ball games, and snow sports. It does come with automatic workout detection.

A heart rate sensor is included on this watch, and the company’s Huawei TruSeen 4.0+ heart rate monitoring technology combines with a 6-in-1 LED lens and sapphire glass back to provide more accurate monitoring.

It can also monitor your stress levels, and it comes with SpO2 (blood oxygen saturation) monitoring too. The watch comes in Night Black for Sport Edition, and Nebula Gray for Classic Edition variants.

The Huawei Watch GT 2 Pro features a 1.39-inch 454 x 454 AMOLED display. It measures 46.7 x 46.7 x 11.4mm, and weighs 52 grams (without the strap).

It supports both Android and iOS

This smartwatch supports Android 4.4 or later, while it is also compatible with iOS 9.0 or later. It is also 5 ATM rated for water and dust resistance, which is to be expected here.

Bluetooth 5.1 is included in the package, as is GPS. The watch does have a speaker built in, and the same goes for microphones as well, so you can take calls with this watch if you want.

This smartwatch is actually a great combination of classy and sporty in terms of the design. You change the watch’s look quite a bit by including a different band on it, depending on your preference.

We still do not know how much will the watch cost, but the company is expected to announce price tags shortly.
