Huawei has announced a new pair of TWS earbuds during HDC (Huawei Developers Conference), the FreeBuds Pro. These are the company’s most advanced TWS earbuds to date.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are world’s first TWS earbuds with Intelligent Dynamic Noise Cancellation
The company claims that these are the world’s first TWS earbuds to offer “Intelligent Dynamic Noise Cancellation”. These earbuds are shorter than the FreeBuds 3, and they are not of the open-ear type.
These earbuds do come with silicone earbud cups, which do a better job with noise cancellation. On top of that, the intelligent dynamic noise cancellation should also help with that.
They do ship with three different sizes of silicone earplugs, so you can fit them to your ear without a problem. Huawei says that it collected and analyzed ear canal data from over 1,000 real users around the world.
The company created a “wind-proof” design
These earbuds do look quite sleek. The stem is quite small, and it’s square-shaped. Huawei also says that this is a wind-proof design, which is especially great for when you’re running and cycling.
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro do support gestures as well. You can easily activate noise cancellation, adjust the volume, answer calls, press play, and skip songs using their stems. Those stems are touch-sensitive.
You can simply swipe or pinch a specific area to take control. These earbuds will also learn from you, your operating habits, so that they minimize false touches.
Huawei engineers actually added a customized dynamic suspension between the speaker and a dynamic driver. This actually emulates the technique used by leading Hi-Fi manufacturers. It stabilizes the acoustic system of the entire earphone, and that reduces vibrations to deliver better sound.
Dynamic EQ Adjustment is also supported
The FreeBuds Pro also support Dynamic EQ Adjustment. That is a new feature which uses data from the in-ear microphone to automatically optimize the sound for the user’s specific ear type.
The noise cancellation in these earbuds is boosted up to 40dB. The earbuds can even detect your environment, and switch between Ultra Mode, Cozy Mode, and General Mode in order to cut out environmental noise.
You’ll get 4.5 hours of battery life out of these earbuds (55mAh battery per earbud), says Huawei, if you have noise cancellation on. If you don’t, they’ll last for 7 hours without the need to charge them with the included case (580mAh battery).
The Huawei FreeBuds Pro are also the “world’s first smart dual-antenna Bluetooth earphones”, says Huawei
These are also the world’s first smart dual-antenna Bluetooth earphones. These earbuds also support Awareness Mode and Voice Mode. Those two utilize the two microphones in order to help users hear the outside world when crossing the road, or talking to someone.
The earbuds are fueled by the Kirin A1 chip, and they come in Ceramic White, Carbon Black, and Silver Front color variants. They do support wireless charging, and Bluetooth 5.2. The price tag is still unknown, but we’ll update the article once it’s released.
