The Play Store on Android tablets includes several apps that are designed only for small screen devices. Up until now, even the Spotify app for Android tablet devices just mirrored its mobile UI experience. According to the Android Police, the app is finally introducing a revamped UI to better suit the large screen devices like Android tablets and Chromebooks.

The UI now looks similar to the Spotify app for Apple iPad. Unlike Android tablets, the apps available on the App Store for Apple iPads include better-optimized apps. The refreshed UI for the Android tablets comes almost 10 months after it was introduced on Apple iPads.

On the bottom left is the and stays put while you’re checking your home page, searching, or browsing through your library. The only time it goes away is when you expand the now playing screen. Previously, the now playing bar at the bottom was difficult to use as it is just an expanded version of what it offered on smartphones.

The new UI now looks similar to its desktop interface

Now, it looks more similar to Spotify’s desktop interface. With the larger screen size and form factor, the tablet version should have the best of both worlds. As of now, there is no official announcement from the company.

With Spotify getting into video podcasts, this new update is evident. As per the source, the refresh UI was found on the v8.5.72.625 for the Android tablets and v8.5.72.287 on Chromebooks. Additionally, this rollout could have been a server-side update. If not, try updating the Spotify app to the latest version through Play Store.
