Amazon has brought back one of its best promos for Music HD. Where you can now get 90 days free of Amazon Music HD and really try out that high-fidelity audio.
This 90 day trial of Amazon Music HD is a $45 value – it costs $15 per month. Unless you're a Prime member, then it costs $12.99 per month or a $39 value.
Amazon Music HD is a more premium music streaming service from Amazon. Giving you access to HD and Ultra HD music, which might not sound like a big deal, but listen to it on a good pair of headphones or speakers and you'll really notice the difference.
What exactly is HD music? Well, it's lossless audio. Typically, audio for streaming service is compressed, very heavily. This is so that the service runs better on slower networks and uses less data. With HD audio, it streams at 850kbps, instead of around 300kbps. That's more than double (actually closer to triple) the regular bit-rate. Which makes a big difference. It supports 16-bit/44.1kHz as well, and there are over 50 million songs from Amazon that streams at this bit-rate.
Now, Ultra HD music takes this to the extreme. It will stream at up to 3730Kbps, that is more than 10x the bit-rate of other streaming services. And it will do 24-bit/192kHz. There are millions of songs streaming at this rate, according to Amazon.
Otherwise, you are still getting the same experience as regular Amazon Music. With hundreds of millions of songs available for streaming. You can create your own playlists, also use radio stations that are curated to your own tastes in music, and even store music offline.
You can sign up for Amazon Music HD here and take advantage of listening for free for the next 90 days. Just make sure to cancel before the 90 days are up, unless you do want to keep it.
