Lenovo Legion Snapdragon 865 Plus

Lenovo has confirmed that its ‘Legion’ smartphone will launch on July 22. That will become the company’s new gaming smartphone, and it will be fueled by the all-new Snapdragon 865 Plus.

Both of those facts have been confirmed by the company, by the way. So, the Lenovo Legion will launch on the same day as the ASUS ROG Phone 3. Those two phones will be the very first devices fueled by this new chip.

The Snapdragon 865 Plus was announced yesterday, and it offers a number of gaming-related improvements. The device comes with better overall performance, and better GPU performance, not to mention higher clock speed.

The Lenovo Legion will launch on July 22 in China

The Lenovo Legion launch will take place in China, by the way. The company has also confirmed that the device will offer two 45W ports for fast charging.

The phone will also include a new heat dissipation architecture, and 14 temperature sensors. On top of that, you can expect dual X-axis linear motors, and an additional USB Type-C port on the side.

AnTuTu benchmark confirmed that the phone will feature a fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) display, and it will also offer a 144Hz refresh rate. 270Hz touch sampling rate will also be a part of the package.

This smartphone’s beastly SoC will be backed by a lot of RAM. The Lenovo Legion is said to ship with 16GB of LPDDR5 RAM, and 512GB of UFS 3.1. So, Lenovo is not sparing any expense on components, it seems.

LPDDR5 RAM is the latest-gen RAM for smartphones, the same goes for UFS 3.1 in terms of storage. This smartphone should get certified by TENAA in the near future, and then we’ll get even more information.

TENAA will probably reveal the phone’s final design, as well. The Lenovo Legion is expected to stand apart from regular smartphones in the design department. We expect it to be somewhat flashy.

ASUS’ and Lenovo’s upcoming gaming smartphones will be direct competitors

The ASUS ROG Phone 3 and Lenovo Legion will be direct competitors. Both of those are flagship gaming smartphones, and both are launching at the same time.

They’ll be first to show off the power of the Snapdragon 865 Plus as well. Each of the two devices will offer their own features, of course, and software builds too.

It is worth noting that Android 10 will come pre-installed on both phones. Each of these companies tend to include their own skins on top of Android, though.
