Both Motorola 'Razr 5G' And 'Razr 2' Are Coming

Motorola Razr Gold Color 2

According to some new information, from a well-known analyst, Motorola is planning to release both the ‘Razr 5G’ and ‘Razr 2’. This information comes from Ross Young, who is a display analyst.

Mr. Young tends to share such info from time to time, as he released plenty of information regarding the upcoming Galaxy Z Fold 2 already. That being said, this time around he shed more light on Motorola’s upcoming foldable handsets.

Motorola Razr 5G & Razr 2 partial display information revealed

Mr. Young claims that the Motorola Razr 2 will feature a larger display than its predecessor. The device will, allegedly, come with a 6.7-inch main display. That means it will have the same display size as the Galaxy Z Flip.

He claims that the outer display will also increase in size, but no exact size was shared. Then he mentioned the Motorola Razr 5G as well. He claims that it will include a 6.2-inch panel.

So, the Motorola Razr 5G will include the exact same display size as the original Motorola Razr. That device will not be the same as its predecessor, though, at least not according to information that surfaced recently.

According to the information shared by Evan Blass, the Motorola Razr 5G will arrive with improved cameras. The phone will feature 20 and 48-megapixel cameras on the back, while the 4G model included a 16-megapixel camera, and a TOF 3D unit.

Evan Blass also mentioned a 6.2-inch panel for this device, as well as 256GB of internal storage. In terms of the design, the Motorola Razr 5G will be extremely similar to its predecessor.

The phone will include larger camera sensors on the back, true, but the design shouldn’t change all that much. The Motorola Razr 2, on the other hand, will get a tweaked design, and size along with it.

Both of these devices are expected to arrive this year

Ross Young did not mention when can we expect these two devices. Both phones are expected to arrive before the end of the year, and some rumors even suggest they’ll launch in September.

Well, that may be a bit optimistic, at least for the Razr 2. The Motorola Razr 2019 launched in November last year, so its successor may follow in Q4 2020, we’ll see.

The same display analyst confirmed that the Motorola Razr 2 will not include a UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) display. He confirmed that back in May.

If the reports are to be believed, the phone will include the Snapdragon 765(G) SoC. In addition to that, you can expect to see 8GB of RAM, and 256GB of internal storage, along with Android 10.
