The newest Amazon Fire HD 8 tablet is on sale for just $59.99 right now. That's going to save you $30 off of its regular price.
The Fire HD 8 is actually a really decent tablet to pick up. It's obviously not a high-end tablet, considering its regular price is under $100, but it is good enough to get some work done.
It does support Amazon Prime Video, Netflix and many other apps. So you are able to use it to watch content and such. There are limited email and productivity apps, but there are plenty of great audiobooks, kindle and other apps like that. Making it great to take with you on a car ride this summer. Since most of us aren't going to be flying anytime soon.
Remember that Amazon's tablets do not run proper Android. Instead, these run on a forked version of Android, with a very heavy Amazon skin. And there's no support for Google Play. So while there are a lot of great apps on Google Play, those are not available on the Fire tablets, unfortunately. So do keep that in mind before you pick one up.
As far as the specs go, this is a 8-inch HD display, with an unnamed MediaTek processor (quad-core, 2GHz), 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage inside. There is also a micro SD card slot available for expanding storage should you need some more space.
But perhaps the most interesting part here is that it now supports USB-C. Meanwhile we still have headphones that cost a lot more than this tablet, launching with micro USB still. So that's something that Amazon has going for its Fire HD 8.
You can pick up the Amazon Fire HD 8 from Amazon today by clicking here. But this price won't be available for long, so you'd better grab it before it is gone.
