New Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 information surfaced on Twitter. This time around, Ice Universe is bringing the news. As most of you know, that is a well-known tipster, and this information is related to the Galaxy Fold 2 bezels, for the most part.
The Galaxy Fold 2 bezels will be thinner than most people expect
The source claims that the Galaxy Fold 2 bezels will be only 3.8mm thick. The display camera hole, on the other hand, will have a diameter of 4.8mm. Ice Universe also mentioned that the phone's inner display will measure 7.7 inches.
Now, a ton of information regarding the Galaxy Fold 2 already surfaced. We've seen several conflicting reports regarding the size of its inner display. All of those rumors say it will be between 7.5 and 7.7 inches, though.
The outer display is rumored to measure 6.2 inches, however. That means that both displays will be larger than they were on the original Fold. This handset will also have considerably thinner bezels than its predecessor.
The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is rumored to include a 120Hz display, well, its inner display is rumored to offer a high refresh rate. The outer display will probably ship with a 60Hz refresh rate.
Samsung will utilize UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) on the inner display, though a plastic film will be applied on top of it once again. You can expect it to offer something similar to the Galaxy Z Flip.
The outer display will be protected by a sheet of Gorilla Glass, of course. We're not sure if Samsung will use Gorilla Glass 5 or 6, though.
The device will not ship with the S Pen, nor support it
The Galaxy Fold 2 will not ship with the S Pen. Hardware limitations are to blame, it seems. That was to be expected, though, as the phone comes with a UTG display, not a regular panel like the Galaxy Note 20.
Some rumors claimed that the S Pen could be a part of the package, but several reliable sources denied that. The Galaxy Fold 2 is expected to launch in August, along with the Galaxy Note 20 series.
Samsung is rumored to host that Unpacked event on August 5. That information has not been confirmed just yet, so there's a chance it will happen later in August.
In addition to the Galaxy Fold 2, and three Galaxy Note 20 handsets, the Galaxy Z Flip 5G will also launch. So, Samsung will essentially announce five flagship phones at the same time.
The Galaxy Fold 2 will probably be fueled by the Snapdragon 865 or 865+. The device will be made out of metal and glass, and include plenty of RAM and storage.
