Samsung has started rolling out the latest One UI update to the Galaxy Tab S4 and the Galaxy Tab S5e tablets. The new One UI 2.1 update is based on Android 10 and includes the Android security patch for the month of June.

The latest One UI update for the Galaxy Tab S4 and Tab S5e comes with the firmware versions T835XXU4CTF5 and T725XXU1BTF7 respectively. In particular, the Android 10 update is currently limited to just the LTE variants. However, Wi-Fi variants should be receiving the same update in the coming weeks.

Importantly, the new update brings in improved Dark Mode. It now offers enhanced text and color adjustments for light and dark modes. The system wallpapers and widgets will also turn dark when Dark Mode is enabled.

Apart from the earlier gesture-based navigation offered by Samsung, Android 10 also offers stock navigation gestures. The Gallery app now comes with fully loaded editing tools. Other newly added features include Music Share, Quick Share, and Samsung Daily.

Samsung brings AirDrop-like feature for easy sharing

The Quick Share feature on Samsung devices works just like the AirDrop on iPhones and Macbooks. Also, the Samsung Keyboard has been updated to support the new Unicode 11.0 emojis.

Additionally, the Floating keyboard can be used in all apps and includes new size and transparency settings.

Samsung also replaced the SmartThings panel with the Media and Devices section in the quick panel settings. The settings are now reorganized for better visibility, and the Device maintenance section is now renamed as Device care.

The Samsung Contacts app now has a trash feature to store your deleted contacts for 15 days before they’re ever deleted. Samsung has committed to offering two major OS updates along with an extra year of security patch updates.

For the Galaxy Tab S4 launched in 2018, the Android 10 update will be the last major OS update.

It came with Android 8.1 Oreo out of the box and was updated to Android 9.0 Pie in 2019. The Galaxy Tab S5e is eligible to receive the upcoming Android 11 update.

As of now, the One UI 2.1 update for the Galaxy Tab S5e is only available for users in the UK. The latest update for the Galaxy Tab S4 is currently rolling out in France.

We expect the company to roll out the latest update for both these tablets in other regions very soon. You can also manually check for the latest OTA update by going to Settings > Software update > Download.
