HONOR has just announced its ‘VIP Day Launch Event’, during which it will announce the HONOR 9A handset. That event will take place on June 23, and it will be livestreamed.
The company has already shared a livestream link as well, and it is embedded below this article. The event is set to start at 2PM CET / 5AM PST / 8AM EST.
HONOR 9A will launch on June 23, along with some “eco-system products”
Needless to say at this point in time, this will be an online-only launch event. In addition to the HONOR 9A, HONOR promised some new “eco-system products” as well.
One of those products will probably be the HONOR Router 3. We don’t know about the rest, but it seems like there will be more than one, based on the company’s words.
The star of the show will most certainly be the HONOR 9A. In its launch event invite, the company shared the image of the device. The HONOR 9A isn’t exactly a secret at this point, as it originally launched in April (in China).
This will essentially be a global launch for the device. The HONOR 9A is the company’s budget smartphone, and despite that, it offers a really nice design.
This phone includes a tiny dewdrop notch at the top of its display, and rather thin bezels. Its bottom bezel is thicker than the rest, though. On the back, the phone sports three cameras, and a fingerprint scanner.
The phone sports a flat display, while all of its physical keys are located on the right. HONOR’s branding is placed on the back of the device, by the way.
This variant of the phone will ship with a global software build
This handset’s global version will probably have the same specs as the Chinese one, but it will ship with global software, of course. Android 10 will come pre-installed on the device, along with Magic UI, but without Google services.
The device will feature a 6.3-inch HD+ (1600 x 720) IPS LCD display, along with 3GB of RAM and 64GB of expandable storage. The MediaTek Helio P22 64-bit octa-core SoC will fuel this phone.
Two SIM card slots will also be available, along with a 5,000mAh non-removable battery. You can expect a microUSB 2.0 port on the bottom of the device, while a 3.5mm headphone jack will also be included.
There you have it, the HONOR 9A will launch on June 23, along with some “ecosystem” products. If you’re interested, mark your calendars, and bookmark the livestream link provided below.
