One of the biggest complaints of YouTube TV has been solved, thank to its new deal with ViacomCBS to bring 14 more channels to the service.

YouTube TV already had a deal with CBS before it merged with Viacom. But it was missing the Viacom-owned channels, which now appear to be coming to the service later this summer.

For years, one of the biggest complaints about YouTube TV was the fact it was missing Viacom channels like BET, ComedyCentral and others. Soon, that will be a thing of the past.

14 new networks, and no price increase – yet

With the announcement of the new deal between YouTube TV and ViacomCBS, there was no announcement of a price increase on YouTube TV. And that’s a big thing.

Normally when a streaming service adds more channels, it’s going to cost them more to carry those channels. And that cost is passed onto the customer. But for now, YouTube TV is sticking with $49.99 per month. Which is a good sweet spot, as it’s cheaper than Hulu + Live TV, and offers more functionality.

With this deal from ViacomCBS, YouTube TV is going to gain 14 new channels: BET, CMT, Comedy Central, MTV, Nickelodeon, Paramount Network, TV Land, VH1, BET Her, MTV2, Nick Jr., NickToons, TeenNick and MTV Classic.

ViacomCBS’ US networks distribution president, Ray Hopkins stated that “we are thrilled to have reached and expanded agreement with YouTube TV that recognizes the full power of our newly combined portfolio as ViacomCBS. Google has been an excellent partner, and we look forward to bringing even more of our entertainment networks to YOuTube TV subscribers for the first time.”

A small group of these channels will launch on YouTube TV first, with the rest coming later this summer. Though the complete list of which channels are launching when, has not yet been announced, officially.

YouTube TV is quickly becoming a crowd-favorite cord-cutting service

At $50 per month, YouTube TV is offering a ton of great channels. Currently it’s 70+, but soon it’ll be 84+ channels that you’re getting with this new deal.

On top of that, you still get that unlimited cloud DVR storage, which is a very big deal. Being able to record virtually everything you want, and not worry about using up all of your DVR space, is definitely a great feature.

Not to mention the fact that YouTube TV is available on virtually every platform, even PS4. Which allows you to watch it everywhere. From your laptop, to your smartphone to your TV and everywhere in between.
