Mr. Agarwal had shared a bunch of OnePlus 8 series information thus far, and a new leak just surfaced on Twitter. He not only confirmed the weight of both OnePlus 8 handsets, but also revealed punch hole diameters for both phones.
The OnePlus 8 Pro will be lighter than the OnePlus 7 Pro, which is a bit surprising
The OnePlus 8 Pro will weigh 198 grams, and thus be lighter than the OnePlus 7 Pro. This device's predecessor weighs 206 grams. This is a bit surprising considering that the 8 Pro will include a larger display, and also 5G.
On the other hand, the OnePlus 7 Pro did feature a pop-up camera, so that's probably something that added weight to the phone. In any case, the OnePlus 8 Pro will be lighter than we expected.
The OnePlus 8, on the other hand, will weigh 178 grams. For comparison's sake, the OnePlus 7 weighs 182 grams, while the 7T weighs 190 grams. So, the OnePlus 8 will be lighter than both.
Now, in terms of the punch hole diameter on these two phones. The OnePlus 8 Pro will include a punch hole with a diameter of 3.84mm, while its display will be 6.78 inches in diagonal.
The OnePlus 8, on the other hand, will sport a punch hole with a diameter of 3.95mm. This device will include a 6.55-inch display, in case you were wondering.
That is pretty much all the information that Mr. Agarwal shared this time around. We still don't know the exact dimensions of these phones, but the OnePlus 8 will be considerably smaller.
Both devices will launch on April 14
Both of these smartphones will become official on April 14. The company confirmed that information quite recently, while adding that the launch even was postponed three times thus far.
OnePlus will announce only its flagship smartphones during the event, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro. The rumored OnePlus 8 Lite aka OnePlus Z is expected to arrive later this year.
Both of these smartphones will be fueled by the Snapdragon 865, and support 5G connectivity. Both will sport curved displays, and a display camera hole. Warp Charge 30T fast wired charging will also be supported by both phones.
The OnePlus 8 Pro will be the only one to support 30W fast wireless charging, and IP68 certification for water and dust resistance. It will also be the only one to offer LPDDR5 RAM, it seems, at least according to rumors.
