According to Ross Young, a display analyst and founder of DisplaySearch & DSCC, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will include a 120Hz display. That’s not all the information that he shared, however.

Mr. Young went to Twitter to reveal quite a few information regarding the upcoming Galaxy Fold 2 foldable. He seems to be trusted by a ton of people in the industry, so what he says, goes. In other words, this information is probably accurate.

The main display on the Galaxy Fold 2 will offer 120Hz refresh rate

According to the provided information, the Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 will include a 7.59-inch main display. The resolution of that display will be 2213 x 1689 (372 DPI). The main display on the Galaxy Fold 2 will offer 120Hz refresh rate, and we’re looking at LTPO Backplane Technology here.

A display camera hole will be present on the device, and that goes for both its main display, and the panel on the outside. So you’ll essentially have one hold on each display.

Mr. Young says Samsung wanted to use an under-display camera for the phone, but the technology is not ready yet. We’ve seen several prototype phones including such tech, but we’ll have to wait a bit longer for it to make it to mainstream devices.

The source also confirms that the Galaxy Fold 2 will include the S-Pen stylus. That rumor surfaced a while back, followed by a rumor claiming it will not have the S-Pen. Well, Mr. Young is confident it will.

He also mentioned that the S-Pen will be the same as on the Galaxy Note series. In other words, the Galaxy Fold 2 will have a ton of advanced features from the Galaxy Note series, it seems.

UTG is making a comeback, hopefully with a better protective film

That’s not all. You can also expect to see UTG (Ultra Thin Glass) on the Galaxy Fold 2. That glass has been applied to the Galaxy Z Flip as well, and will make a comeback on the Galaxy Fold 2.

The source claims that UTG will still have to be covered by a protective film. He hopes that the protective film will be more scratch-resistant than the one on the Galaxy Z Flip, though.

Now, regarding the outer display, the smaller one. Mr. Young says that it will measure 6.23 inches, and offer a resolution of 2267 x 819. It will be a 60Hz display, and will use the LTPS technology.

The Samsung Galaxy Fold 2 is rumored to arrive at the same time as the Galaxy Note 20 series. Those devices will probably become official in August.

That is when Samsung usually reveals its Galaxy Note series of devices. It is, of course, possible that the recent outbreak will mess up Samsung’s plans. The company may be forced to postpone that launch.

If a report that surfaced recently is to be believed, however, Samsung is right on schedule, and has no plans to postpone anything. We’ll see what will happen.
