OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T & 7T Pro Get 'Instant Translation' Via Latest Beta Update

OnePlus has started pushing out new Open Beta updates to the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, 7T, and 7T Pro, and it brings the 'Instant Translation' feature to the table. The changelog is the same for all four smartphones.

This update is marked as Open Beta 11 for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro. On the flip side, it's marked as Open Beta 2 for the OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro.

Instant Translation comes to all four OnePlus 7 and 7T series devices as part of this beta update

Instant translation is definitely the most notable change in this beta update for the OnePlus 7 and 7T series smartphones. It provides real-time subtitles during video calls, and it currently supports five languages.

Those languages are English, French, German, Hindi, and Chinese. More languages will be added as time goes by, so it will become more and more useful.

This is definitely a really useful feature to have if you plan on communicating with people from different countries, if speaking one common language is out of the question. It will probably be used mostly for meetings and whatnot.

On top of that, OnePlus also added the Android security patch for March in this update. The adaptive brightness feature has been optimized, while a couple of fixes have been thrown into the mix as well.

OnePlus has fixed the frame rate issue to improve screen recording experience on all four devices. It has also fixed the random switch to Gboard while using SwiftKey or any other 3rd party keyboard.

That is pretty much it as far as the changelog is concerned. This update is currently rolling out OTA (over-the-air) to those of you who are on the beta channel software. If you're not, you'll have to switch manually.

Switching to a beta channel is not a problem at all

Switching to a beta software is not a problem at all, you won't even lose any data. Going back, on the other hand, will cause you to lose data. So keep that in mind if you're planning on trying out this update.

You can find all the necessary information regarding switching to the beta channel by clicking here. You'll essentially need to download an installation file, and install it via the file manager app on your phone.

All four devices that received this update have been released last year. These devices are still the best OnePlus has to offer, at least until the OnePlus 8 series arrives.

Speaking of which, the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro flagships are due to arrive next month, on April 15. A well-known tipster suggested that will happen, and all we're waiting for at this moment is a confirmation from OnePlus.
