Vivo APEX 2020 Coming With 60W Wireless Charging & Waterfall Display

Vivo is getting ready to announce a new concept phone. The name of that device will be the Vivo APEX 2020, and it will feature a whopping 60W wireless charging.

That's not all, though. Vivo revealed, via its teasers on Weibo, that the phone will also feature a waterfall display. We're talking about a true waterfall display here, the one that wraps around all the way over the phone's sides.

The Vivo APEX 2020 will include 60W wireless charging, it seems

Vivo confirmed these two tidbits via its official teasers. Let's talk about the charging part, first, shall we. The Vivo APEX 2020 will include 60W wireless charging if the poster provided below is anything to go by.

Vivo APEX 2020 60W wireless charging poster

Vivo did not exactly highlight the wattage on the device, but the poster has a graphic that spells out 60W. The way it's portrayed, it seems like wireless charging is in question here.

Some of you may think this is ludicrous, as the fastest wireless charging on the market is 30W at the moment. Well, this is a rather bold move by Vivo, but do note that this is a concept smartphone.

It may take the company a while to bring it to market, and it may even be released slightly altered. In any case, if Vivo does announce 60W wireless charging, it will turn many heads.

Wireless charging generates a lot of heat. The higher the wattage, the more heat it generates. Now, either Vivo already found a way around this, or it's working on it still, and it only wants to highlight the technology here. That tech may not be close to reaching the market.

Now, regarding the phone's display. Vivo did share a short, 19-second teaser video of this phone. That teaser video shows the whole device, but it puts focus on its display.

You can see both the phone's front and back sides, but only for a brief second. That video is included below this paragraph (reuploaded to YouTube, originally shared via Weibo), in case you'd like to take a peak.

The device will be bezel-less

You can see that the phone is basically bezel-less. There are extremely thin bezels on the top and bottom, but they're a part of the phone's frame.

This video also reveals that the phone will include a circular camera module on the back. That camera module will protrude a bit, and it seems like a periscope camera will be placed on the back.

We may be wrong about a periscope camera, but it sure seems like it based on the provided video. In any case, everything will be revealed tomorrow.
