Pokémon Home is here, meaning the app is live on Google Play and is ready to accept your transfers. Your Pokémon transfers that is.
The service was launched by Nintendo as a way to allow gamers to move their Pokémon about from platform to platform. Though there are restrictions of course.
That being said there aren't too many of them, really, and it's definitely an app you're going to want if you play any games in the Pokémon franchise. Especially more current ones like Pokémon GO, Pokémon Sword, or Pokémon Shield.
Pokémon Home is live on the Nintendo Switch too
In case you weren't aware or you forgot, there is a Nintendo Switch version of this app that can be downloaded onto your console.
It's free just like the Android version, though both do offer a premium tier. This will end up costing you $16 a year for the premium benefits. $16 might sound like a lot at first, but it's not once you break it all down.
Remember, $16 is the annual cost and that's less than $1.50 a month for 12 months each. At that cost, you'll end up having access to a handful of additional features. Worth noting though is that some Pokémon may not be transferable between games. Though for the most part transfers shouldn't be a huge problem.
Use Pokémon Home to trade with people globally
Pokémon Home is about more than just transferring your Pokémon around to a different game. It's also a way for you to trade with friends or other players from around the world.
You can do straight up trades or trade by using the Wonder Box, Global Trade System, or in Room Trades or trades with friends.
There's really no shortage of ways to trade. And each offers a unique experience as part of the trade. Granted if you're just trying to trade with friends you may not use the Wonder Box, and instead may choose to set up a room that your friends would need to gain access to.
There's also a promotion going on with Pokémon Bank and Poké Transporter from today until March 12. Both of these services will be free to access during that month-long time period. So there's never been a better time to use either of them as they normally have a fee associated with them as well.
