The POCO X2 will adopt the Redmi K30 design after all
In this short teaser video, you can see parts of the upcoming POCO X2. The video is clearly showing the design of the Redmi K30, the purple K30, just to be accurate.
The camera arrangement on the back is easily recognizable here, as is the side-facing fingerprint scanner. That color option is also identical to the one on the Redmi K30.
This is not a surprise, at all. We’ve been expecting this to happen, as the device surfaced several times thus far. This is basically a confirmation of those leaks, though.
The POCO X2 will become the first POCO-branded phone since the POCO F1 / Pocophone F1. The company will announce the device on February 4 in India, so you can expect it to arrive tomorrow.
The POCO X2 will be a mid-range smartphone, just like the Redmi K30. The company is expected to announce more devices soon, more on that later, though.
The POCO X2 actually surfaced on Geekbench in both 6GB and 8GB RAM variants already. The phone will ship with Android 10 out of the box, and will be fueled by one of Qualcomm’s mid-range chips.
The phone will include Sony’s IMX686 sensor on the back, in addition to a secondary camera. A 3.5mm headphone jack will be a part of the package.
POCO is rumored to release three devices in the near future
POCO is rumored to announce three devices in the near future. One of those devices will hopefully be the POCO F2 / Pocophone F2. That handset is expected to become the company’s new flagship unit.
We’re not sure if POCO plans to release the POCO X2 outside of India, but the POCO F2 will almost certainly be a global smartphone. The POCO F1 / Pocophone F2 was an extremely successful device for the company.
That phone arrived way back in August 2018, and it had plenty to offer for the price tag. The POCO F2 / Pocophone F2 is expected to arrive soon as well, with the Snapdragon 865.
The device is expected to be quite affordable, and the Pocophone F2 name will be used outside of India. As a side note, POCO became an independent brand quite recently. We’re still not sure when will the POCO F2 arrive, but the X2 is coming tomorrow, so let’s focus on that, shall we.
