OnePlus 7T Gets January Security Patch & RAM Management Optimizations

A new update is currently rolling out to the OnePlus 7T, and it includes a new security patch, along with RAM management optimizations. This is the same update that rolled out to the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, and 7T Pro a couple of days ago.

We don't know why this rollout got delayed for the OnePlus 7T, but its users had to wait only a couple of additional days. This update is marked as OxygenOS 10.0.8, at least for global users. Those of you in India will be getting it as OxygenOS 10.3.1.

Speaking of which, this update also contains several India-only additions, all of which are listed in its changelog. Let's focus on the global changes, though, shall we.

This update optimizes RAM management on the OnePlus 7T

This update will optimize RAM management on the OnePlus 7T, while it will also improve blank / black screen issues with some apps. This is an issue that other OnePlus 7 series devices had as well.

The OnePlus 7T now also supports reminders for privacy alerts, which was not the case prior to this update. Android security patch for January has also been added via this update.

On top of all that, system stability has also been improved. A number of other bugs have been squashed in this build as well. There are several India-only changes that are issued in the India version of the update, click here if you'd like to know more.

It's a staged rollout, so be patient

This update is already rolling out to OnePlus 7T users. We are looking at a staged rollout, though. So, the update is rolling out to a small number of users at the moment, but that will change shortly.

OnePlus simply wants to make sure that no additional bugs creep into the equation. All users should receive this update within a week, if everything goes according to plan.

The update itself weighs between 200 and 300MB, at least that was the case with the OnePlus 7, 7 Pro, and 7T Pro.

The OnePlus 7T is one of OnePlus' current flagships. The OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro were announced at the end of last year, and the 7T seems to be more popular. There is a good reason for that, though, it is more available.

The OnePlus 7T's availability is not that limited as the OnePlus 7T Pro's. For example, only the 7T is available in the US.

Both of these phones are quite powerful, and they're both fueled by the Snapdragon 855+. The OnePlus 7T also packs in UFS 3.0 storage, plenty of RAM, and extremely thin bezels.
