HONOR had introduced its new flagship today, the HONOR View30 Pro. If this handset looks familiar, well, that's because you've probably seen it before. This is essentially a global variant of the HONOR V30 Pro that got announced in China at the end of last year.
The HONOR View30 Pro is a phone made out of metal and glass. It comes with really thin bezels, and a pill-shaped display camera hole. HONOR, much like several other smartphone manufacturers, opted for this camera hole for some reason.
The HONOR View30 Pro's camera hole is quite noticeable, but not huge
This pill-shaped camera hole is not huge, but it's definitely more noticeable than a tiny hole on the Galaxy S20 series. This camera hole does host two cameras, though, which we'll talk about in a minute.
The HONOR View30 Pro's bottom bezel is the thickest one, and it's only a little bit thicker than the rest of them. The phone's rear camera module is placed in the top-left corner, and it does protrude a little. The back side of the phone is curved.
The View30 Pro features a 6.57-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) FullView display. This is an IPS LCD display, and it's a 60Hz display, in case you were wondering. The Kirin 990 64-bit octa-core processor fuels the device, and HONOR also included 8GB of RAM inside of this phone. The device will be available in 128GB and 256GB flavors.
Android 10 comes pre-installed on the phone, along with HONOR's Magic UI 3.0.1. The device includes a 4,100mAh battery on the inside, and it supports fast charging.
The device comes with 40W fast wired charging, and 27W fast wireless charging
HONOR equipped the device with 40W wired SuperCharge fast charging, which can get the phone from 0 to 70-percent in 30 minutes. 27W wireless SuperCharge is also included in the package, and it can charge up the phone to 52-percent in 30 minutes.
On top of all that, reverse wireless charging is also supported. Do note that a wireless charger is sold separately, as it's the case with the vast majority of smartphones.
A 40-megapixel SuperSensing main camera is included on the back, as one of three cameras here. This camera incorporates Sony's IMX600 sensor, and an f/1.6 aperture. Laser autofocus is also included in the package.
HONOR also included a 12-megapixel Super Wide Angle Camera with an f/2.2 aperture lens, and a 109-degree field of view. This camera utilizes 4-in-1 Light Fusion, and has a special mode for macro photography. The last camera on the back is an 8-megapixel telephoto camera with an f/2.4 aperture lens, and 3x lossless zoom.
Those cameras are joined by 32 and 8-megapixel front-facing units. A 32-megapixel camera is the main one on the front, and it comes with an f/2.0 aperture lens and Super Night mode. An 8-megapixel Wide Angle Selfie Camera is also placed there, with an f/2.2 aperture lens and 105-degree field of view.
The phone got announced in Ocean Blue, Midnight Black, Icelandic Front, and Sunrise Orange color options. It measures 162.7 x 75.8 x 8.8mm, and weighs 206 grams. The phone supports 5G connectivity, dual-mode 5G. HONOR did not say when will the phone become available, though.
