Exclusive Look At The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite

Samsung is preparing to launch a new “lite” tablet, which is expected to be called the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite, and we have your first look at that new tablet.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite might look fairly familiar, as it is supposed to resemble the Galaxy Tab S6 that was announced last year. It also comes with the same redesigned S Pen.

While it’s not confirmed that this tablet will have wireless charging available for the S Pen, it is very likely. Since this is a thicker S Pen than what comes with the Galaxy Note series, which means it can’t fit in a silo inside the tablet. Making wireless charging a must.

Mid-range specs for a “Lite” tablet

The Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 Lite sport the Exynos 9611 chipset, which is the same processor found in many of the company’s mid-range smartphones. Exynos 9611 is a very capable processor, but not the best silicon available. It will also come with 4GB of RAM and either 64GB or 128GB of storage. The storage will likely be dependent on the region that is being sold in.

The Galaxy Tab S6 Lite is taking the “lite” term to heart, and will be a cheaper tablet too. Where the Galaxy Tab S6 was priced at $649, it wouldn’t be crazy to see this model priced around $399 or even less. It likely won’t be much less than that, as Samsung has not given up on its Galaxy Tab A series, in fact there is a new 8.4-inch model coming rather soon. And the Galaxy Tab A series is generally around $200, depending on the size.

It will also run Android 10 out of the box, and most likely One UI 2.1 – which debuted on the Galaxy S20 earlier this month.

We don’t yet have data on the size of the display, but expect it to be very similar in size to the regular Galaxy Tab S6.

Launch is imminent

Expect Samsung to announce the Galaxy Tab S6 Lite in the very near future. While we don’t have an exact date for the announcement, it should be in the next few weeks. Considering these renders are made very close to the official launch of a product.

Since Samsung doesn’t have any other big product launch events scheduled yet (though we know there will be one around August for the Galaxy Note series), this tablet will likely be announced via press release from the company very soon.
