Amazon has the Sony Xperia 5 on sale right now, coming in at $698. That's good for $100 off of its regular price, and actually a pretty good deal for this smartphone.
It is unlocked, but only works on GSM networks like AT&T and T-Mobile. It is also certified to work on Verizon in the US.
The Xperia 5 is a flagship smartphone, though it isn't quite as big as the Xperia 1 that Sony launched before it. The Xperia 5 has a 6.1-inch full HD+ 21:9 aspect ratio display. It's still an OLED panel, but it drops the 4K and HDR. Powered by the Snapdragon 855 chipset, 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also a micro SD card slot available.
Sony has a triple-camera setup on the Xperia 5, with all three being 12-megapixel sensors. There's a wide/main camera, ultrawide and telephoto. That's the usual set up for most smartphones these days.
Battery on the Xperia 5 is a bit on the smaller side at 3140mAh capacity. But it should still be enough to get you through the day. Considering this is a smaller screen with a lower resolution. And Sony has been really good with power efficiency in its smartphones in recent years.
There is a side-mounted fingerprint sensor on the Xperia 5, so you don't need to worry using an in-display sensor that would likely be terrible. The power button is the fingerprint sensor, and Sony has really pioneered this. Making it a really good option.
The only downside to getting the Xperia 5 from Amazon right now is the fact that it is only available in black. So you can't get that fiery red color that most people love.
