The OnePlus 8 is going to be coming to Verizon, and it'll be the company's second US carrier partner behind T-Mobile.

The device is also going to sport 5G connectivity. Which is a given, considering how much Verizon is pushing 5G right now.

This is all according to a report out of Android Police, who spoke with a "source familiar with the companies' plans".

Finally, a OnePlus phone comes to Verizon

Verizon users have been clammoring for a OnePlus device on Verizon for many years now. They got a bit of their wish granted in 2019, when the OnePlus 7 Pro was certified to work on Verizon. But it was never on sale from Verizon. Which meant those looking to finance the device, couldn't.

Now, Verizon users can rejoice as they'll be able to purchase the OnePlus 8.

As Android Police points out, it appears that Verizon is only getting the OnePlus 8. Which is the smaller, non-pro model. There will still be a OnePlus 8 Pro.

Verizon will also be selling the 5G version of the OnePlus 8. The report isn't so sure that there will be a 4G LTE model and a 5G model, or if OnePlus will only launch 5G versions of their new devices. Considering they are going to be running the Snapdragon 865, it's likely that there will be both.

It'll come with Verizon's bloatware too

Unfortunately, the Verizon OnePlus 8 is going to come with Verizon's suite of apps. Which many refer to as "bloatware". This is unfortunate, but not surprising at all. Considering T-Mobile does also have its apps pre-installed on its own OnePlus devices. However, T-Mobile only has a couple of apps pre-installed. Like the My T-Mobile app and the Device Unlock app. So it'll be interesting to see what Verizon puts on the OnePlus 8.

OnePlus has never marketed their devices as being bloatware free, so this isn't a case of going back on their word at all. But it is rather unfortunate that there is going to be a good amount of bloatware on the OnePlus 8. On the flip side, at least OnePlus offers plenty of storage. Considering the OnePlus 7T sports 128GB of storage out of the box.

The report doesn't mention when OnePlus is going to announce this new device, but it'll likely be in the Spring. The OnePlus 7 series was announced in May 2019. So it's possible that we could see an April or May launch for the OnePlus 8 series this year.
