More information regarding the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip just surfaced, including both camera and display info. Once again, such information comes from Ishan Agarwal, a tipster who probably shared most info regarding the phone thus far.
The Galaxy Z Flip will include a rather large display, and a 12-megapixel main camera
This time around, Mr. Agarwal reports that the Galaxy Z Flip will include a 6.7-inch Dynamic AMOLED display. He did not share its resolution, though, so that's still up in the air.
The phone will include a 12-megapixel main camera on the back, not a 108-megapixel one. That means that it won't have the same main camera as the Galaxy S20 Ultra.
The Galaxy S20 and S20+ are rumored to include a 12-megapixel main camera, though. That probably means that the Galaxy Z Flip will have that very same camera. Unless Samsung opts to go with an older sensor, of course.
A 10-megapixel camera will be included on the front side of this phone. That will be the same camera that is included in the Galaxy Note 10 handsets, and that will be included in the Galaxy S20 and S20+.
The phone will include 256GB of storage, reports tipster. Samsung's One UI 2.1 skin will ship out of the box. That means that Android 10 will come pre-installed, as expected.
The device will also include either a 3,300mAh or a 3,500mAh battery, the tipster is not sure yet. The device will be available in both Black and Purple color variants. We're not sure if any other will be available, but the source confirmed these two.
It will become Samsung's second foldable smartphone
The Galaxy Z Flip will become Samsung's second foldable smartphone. The device has been leaking for quite some time now, and Samsung also teased it at the end of last year.
Based on the information we have thus far, that will be a clamshell foldable smartphone. It will fold vertically, unlike the Galaxy Fold. It will have thinner bezels than the Galaxy Fold, and will include a single display hole.
The phone will be fueled by the Snapdragon 855, if the rumored information is to be believed. This device will also be considerably more affordable than the Galaxy Fold. A price tag of around $800-$900 had been mentioned in rumors.
The device is rumored to have an ultra-thin glass (UTG) display, and not a plastic panel like the Galaxy Fold. Rumors are claiming that it will have a layer of plastic on top of that glass panel, though, for protection.
The phone is expected to arrive on the same day as the Galaxy S20 series. That means that it will probably arrive on February 11, during Samsung's even in San Francisco.
