The Galaxy A51 & A71 are the very first Galaxy A 2020 series devices
As part of the Galaxy A 2020 series of devices, the company announced two smartphones. Samsung introduced the Galaxy A51 and A71. It is possible that the company plans to expand that series later on, but for now, these are the company’s mid-rangers for 2020.
Samsung did not release any information regarding the availability of these devices on a global scale. These phones will be making their way to a number of markets around the globe, though, for sure.
Both the Galaxy A71 and A91 have been leaking for a while now, and those leaks have now been confirmed, for the most part. These two phones are exactly what we’ve expected.
The Galaxy A71 and A91 look fairly similar. Both phones include rather thin bezels, and a centered display camera hole. The camera hole on the Galaxy A51 seems to be a bit smaller though, and it’s placed a bit lower. The Galaxy A71’s is closer to the top bezel, but it’s also larger.
Both devices include a quad camera setup on the back, and those cameras are aligned to form a letter ‘L’. So, I guess we can call this an L-shaped camera setup. In addition to those cameras, an LED flash is also included in the camera module.
That camera module is placed in the top-left corner of the phone’s back side, that goes for both devices. Speaking of which, the back side on both phones is curved, and Samsung’s logo is placed back there.
The Galaxy A51 is smaller, and is fueled by an Exynos SoC
The two phones do differ in terms of specs, of course. Let’s start with the Galaxy A51. That device features a 6.5-inch fullHD+ (2040 x 1080) Infinity-O Super AMOLED display.
The phone is fueled by the Exynos 9611 64-bit octa-core processor, and comes with 4GB / 6GB / 8GB of RAM. In addition to that, you’ll find 64GB / 128GB inside of this phone, while you can expand that storage via a microSD card.
Android 10 comes pre-installed on the device, while the phone includes two SIM card slots. A 4,000mAh battery is also a part of the package, and it supports 15W fast wired charging. A 3.5mm headphone jack is also included.
48-megapixel (f/2.0 aperture), 12-megapixel (123-degree ultra-wide angle lens, f/2.2 aperture), 5-megapixel (depth sensor, f/2.2 aperture), and 5-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture, macro) cameras are included on the back of the device. A single 32-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture) can be found on the front.
The phone includes an in-display fingerprint scanner, by the way, and Dolby Atmos support. It measures 158.5 x 73.6 x 7.9mm, and weighs 172 grams.
This device comes in Blue, Pink, Prism Crush Black, and White color variants. It is priced at 7,990,990 VND ($346) in Vietnam, and it will become available for pre-order on December 16. It will go on sale on December 27.
The Galaxy A71 comes with a Snapdragon processor & 25W fast charging
The Galaxy A71, on the other hand, is a bit more powerful, and it’s also larger. The device includes a 6.7-inch fullHD+ (2400 x 1080) Infinity-O Super AMOLED display.
The phone is fueled by the Snapdragon 730 64-bit octa-core processor, while it includes 6GB / 8GB of RAM. The phone comes with 128GB of expandable storage, by the way.
Android 10 is pre-installed on this phone as well, while the device has two SIM card slots. A 4,000mAh battery is included, same as on the Galaxy A51. The Galaxy A71 offers faster charging, though, 25W fast wired charging, to be accurate.
64-megapixel (f/1.8 aperture), 12-megapixel (123-degree, f/2.2 aperture), 5-megapixel (depth sensor, f/2.2 aperture), and 5-megapixel (f/2.4 aperture) cameras are included on the back of the device. A single 32-megapixel camera (f/2.2 aperture can be found on the front).
This handset also sports an in-display fingerprint scanner, while it measures 163.6 x 76 x 7.7mm, and weighs 179 grams. The phone comes in Blue, Pink, Prism Crush Black, and Silver color variants. We do not know its price tag yet.
