Here's the latest Huawei phone leak with an exclusive look at two new Huawei phones.

Shown here is the Huawei Y6s and another, yet to be determined, Huawei smartphone.

It's unclear when either of these phones will be released, although they are likely to be related to each other.

A closer look at the Huawei Y6s

Huawei is set to announce a new "s" variant of the Huawei Y6 smartphone line. The Huawei phone leak below shows a device codenamed "Jakarta," believed to be the Huawei Y6s.

Besides highlighting the blue variant, the image also suggests a fairly modest smartphone overall.

Consistent with many recent Huawei phones, the Huawei Y6s features a "dewdrop" display. This is in addition to a single 13 megapixel rear camera and a physical fingerprint reader on the back.

While additional information on this phone is limited, previous leaks have pointed to a 6.1-inch display along with 3GB RAM and 32GB storage.

If the previously rumored specs are correct, then the Huawei Y6s is very similar to the Huawei Y6 Pro (2019). The Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) launched earlier in the year and also features a 6.1 inch display along with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage, and a single 13 megapixel rear camera.

The similarities of the two also extend to the design with the Y6s looking like the Huawei Y6 Pro (2019). Although there are some notable differences, including the design of the single rear camera module. The Huawei Y6 Pro (2019) also does not include a fingerprint reader on the back.

Speaking of the back, the image also shows the Y6s sporting a Pixel-like two-tone back panel, similar to the Huawei Y9 Prime (2019).

The other unknown Huawei smartphone

While there's very few details accompanying this second Huawei phone leak, "Merida" is a more premium smartphone.

It could a "Pro" version of the Huawei Y6s, although it also could arrive branded entirely differently. All that is known is the more premium status compared to the Huawei Y6s.

This is also evident by looking at the image below. For example, while the front of the device is very similar to the Huawei Y6s, the rear tells a different story.

In addition to the extra sensor, this device also boasts Huawei's "AI Camera" benefits.

Another notable different is the lack of a fingerprint reader on the back. Providing it has one, the reader might be embedded in the display or side-mounted similar to the recent Huawei Y9s.

The latter seems the less likely option considering there's no visible indentation shown in the image – one would be expected with a side-mounted fingerprint reader.

No details on pricing or availability

There's little to go on when it comes to the pricing or availability of either of these devices.

Historically, the Huawei Y smartphone line has never been that expensive and it would be expected the Huawei Y6s will follow along the same affordable path.

Huawei unveiled the Huawei Y6s very early in 2019 and therefore it could be the case this one arrives early in 2020. However, it could just as easily arrive before then as well. Especially considering the Y9s was announced at the start of November.

The other, mystery phone is also unlikely to be hugely expensive. While it is understood to be a more premium solution compared to the Huawei Y6s, it does not appear to be on the same level as the new Huawei Y9s.

The Huawei Y9s is also not an expensive smartphone.

Based on these assumptions, this mystery phone will likely find itself positioned somewhere between the Y6s and the Y9s.

However, given Huawei's tendency to brand devices differently in different regions, it might not arrive as a Y-branded smartphone at all.
