Yesterday, we talked about Android 10 beta testing for the Galaxy S10 series. Samsung released some teaser images, confirming that the update will commence soon. Well, it seems like it is kicking off today, at least for some regions.
Android 10 beta for the Galaxy S10 coming to South Korea & Germany today
According to the newly-released information, South Korean and German users will get the update first. The Samsung customer care executive confirmed that the update is kicking off today.
It was confirmed that the Android 10 beta program for the Galaxy S10 will be held as a first come first serve basis. Quite a bit of info got shared regarding the update for South Korea.
There will be a total of 10,000 participants, once that number is reached, people will no longer be able to join. SKT, KT, LGU+ and unlocked users in South Korea can participate in the first phase of beta testing.
It is also noted that there are limited spots available for each Korean carrier. For the initial test of 10,000 users, 5,000 will be SKT users, 2,000 KT users, 2,000 LGU+ users, and 1,000 unlocked users.
The executive also confirmed that the second phase of beta testing will begin on October 21. That phase will last until November 14, it seems.
The Galaxy Note 10 may join the beta program on October 10
It is also said that the Galaxy Note 10 series may join the Android 10 One UI 2.0 beta testing on October 21, as part of the second phase. Korean users will be able to join the beta program from the Samsung Member app, where additional info will be posted later today.
News that are coming from Germany are claiming that the Android 10 One UI 2.0 beta testing phase for the Galaxy S10 will begin in that country today as well.
The source also suggests that there will be 30,000 free spots for beta-testers in Germany. This has not been confirmed just yet, but it's possible we'll see the confirmation later today. Stay tuned to what's happening via the Samsung Member app, if you're interested in participating.
Just to be clear, all Galaxy S10 units will be eligible for this beta test. This includes the Galaxy S10, S10e, S10+, and S10 5G. Presuming that all are available in the country where a beta test is taking place.
Considering that these beta tests will kick off in both South Korea and Germany today, the US cannot be far behind. Samsung may surprise everyone and do the same for the US today as well. If not, then probably in the next couple of weeks. We'll just have to wait and see.
The Galaxy Note 10 series users will join the fold soon as well. Samsung may share more info regarding that soon as well, so stay tuned.
