Amazon is discounting the SanDisk 256GB Extreme Micro SD card today, dropping the price down to just $44.99. That's good for about $5 off of its normal price, but its original price was closer to around $110.

If you have a smartphone that has a micro SD card slot – which is the majority of them in 2019 – then this is a great way to add some more storage, without buying a new smartphone.

This micro SD card from SanDisk is part of its "Extreme" lineup, which brings you faster speeds. That's good for recording in 4K. The kind of speeds we're talking about here are up to 160MB/s on both the read and write. This means that you can record in 4K and not have to wait for the micro SD card to finish writing the video before you can record again. That's generally why you have to wait in between recording footage.

With 256GB of storage available, you're going to have plenty of room for storing plenty of content on your phone. This is going to be good for storing plenty of pictures and videos on your phone. As well as storing music for offline play and even some apps. This one does support A2 for apps being on the micro SD card. What that means is that you won't notice a slowdown when running apps that are on the phone versus those that are located on the micro SD card. Which is actually a pretty common thing.

Some, not all, smartphones support Adoptable Storage. Like most of Motorola's smartphones. So this isn't something that everyone will be able to take advantage of, unfortunately.

You can pick up the SanDisk 256GB Extreme Micro SD card from Amazon by clicking here. This one won't be around for long, so you'll want to grab it before it's gone.
