Amazon is discounting the Samsung Galaxy Watch today, bringing the price down to just $199. This is for a refurbished, or "renewed" model as Amazon likes to refer to it as. That's good for $200 off of its regular price, making this a really good price for those looking to get a smartwatch.
The Galaxy Watch is almost a year old, but that isn't really "old" when it comes to smartwatches. Samsung has been updating its smartwatches for several years, so you won't have to worry about whether it will continue to get updates or not. Which is definitely a good thing.
This smartwatch does have that rotating bezel, which is what everyone loves. That's because it makes it so much easier to navigate through the operating system, especially on such a smaller display. It does run on Tizen, so you're not getting Wear OS from Google on this one. That's likely a good thing, as the battery life is going to last a bit longer. Samsung says that it should last up to about three days on a single charge, which is pretty good.
Galaxy Watch does work with both Android and iOS. It's not one of those that only works with Samsung smartphones.
This is for the GPS version, and not the version with LTE. So it will still connect to your smartphone, but if you leave home without your phone, you won't be getting any notifications. Which may not be a big deal to a lot of people. But others, may be pretty upset with that. It also means that the battery will last longer since it is not an LTE version.
