Amazon's Prime Day doesn't officially kick off until Monday, July 15, but that isn't stopping the retailer from offering massive discounts ahead of the big day. It is currently offering the Insignia 55-inch 4K Fire TV for just $319. That's $110 off of its regular price, and a pretty insane price for a 55-inch 4K TV, even if it didn't have Fire TV built-in.
This TV from Insignia is not the best 55-inch 4K TV you'll find, but for this price, it is pretty darn good. This is a 4K TV with HDR included. It has HDR10 support, but unfortunately no Dolby Vision. That's not a big deal, especially considering that would usually drive the price up quite a bit more. It's going to provide you with a pretty good looking picture, especially for watching some content from Amazon Prime Video.
Fire TV being built-in is a really great feature. It offers you all sorts of apps, like Amazon Prime Video, Hulu, Netflix, HBO, PlayStation Vue, Sling TV and now YouTube is also available. That's a really great way to watch all sorts of things on your TV, while also cutting the cord - which seems to be very popular these days. Fire TV also has a few other nifty features up its sleeve, including Alexa support. This allows you to find something to watch easily, as well as controlling your smart home products from your big screen and you can also ask Alexa to turn up the volume on your TV. all of which are really great features.
This would make for a really great TV to add to a living room, or even into a first apartment. It's big, but not too big and at $319, it's hard to beat.
