Amazon is discounting a ton of products in the lead-up to Prime Day next week. And the latest deal is on a Fire TV Stick 4K and Echo Dot (3rd generation) bundle, which is now just $74.98. This also brings it back to its Black Friday price, which we last saw last November. And it hasn't dropped to this price since. The closest it has gotten was $79.98. So this is a really great time to pick one up.
The Fire TV Stick 4K is just what it sounds like, a streaming TV stick that is capable of 4K output. It is running on the Fire TV OS that Amazon has developed, which has a number of apps and games included. The big names like Amazon Prime Video, Netflix, HBO, Hulu and others are available. And now, YouTube is also available once again. There is also support for HDR, so you're going to get some really great looking video out of this one.
Then there's the Echo Dot. It's a small smart speaker that has Amazon Alexa built-in, allowing you to use your voice to control your smart home products, and also ask Alexa questions. Of course, the most common question is going to be about the weather. You can also set up routines with Alexa, so you can have her turn on the lights, start your coffee, tell you the weather and then read the news to you.
The Fire TV Stick 4K does have Amazon Alexa built-in, so you can voice search for stuff, but with the Echo Dot, you can tell Alexa to turn on the TV and open Netflix, without much trouble. Which makes it really awesome.
