Amazon's Fire TV Recast Joins In The Pre-Prime Day Sales

The Amazon Fire TV Recast is discounted on Amazon, ahead of Prime Day later this month. It is dropping down to just $129 for the 500GB model and $179 for the 1TB model. That's $100 off of each model, which blows away its pricing during the holiday season. Basically, don't expect it to drop lower when Prime Day actually comes around.

Fire TV Recast was announced last year, and it is essentially a DVR for your Fire TV. But it can only record OTA channels like ABC, CBS, NBC, PBS, FOX and a few others. So you won't be able to record shows on TBS, or ESPN, unfortunately. But being able to record your shows and watch them on Fire TV anytime is definitely a nice feature to have. Fire TV Recast will allow you to not only play them on your Echo Show, or your smartphone, with the Fire TV app. Which makes this a pretty awesome product to have.

Amazon offers the Fire TV Recast in two different models. There is the 500GB Fire TV Recast which will record about 75 hours worth of content. That also comes with two tuners. What that means is that you can record two shows at the same time. So say you want to record Big Brother and Celebrity Family Feud at the same time, you'll be able to with this model.

The larger Fire TV Recast comes with 1TB of storage, which is about 150 hours of content and it also has four tuners. You likely won't ever need to use all four tuners, but it is nice to have it available to you.

You can pick up the Fire TV Recast from Amazon using the links below. Remember that this price is not going to last long, so you'll want to grab it before it is gone.
