Woot's Birthday Week Continues With 1st Gen Amazon Echo's For $29

Woot is celebrating its birthday week this week with a number of great deals on all sorts of items, and today one of those items is the first-generation Amazon Echo. Which can be yours for just $29.99. This is, obviously, a used and refurbished model. Seeing as Amazon stopped making the original Echo a couple of years ago. But these are in "Very Good" condition, so no worries about whether it's in a decent condition or not.

The original Amazon Echo still gets updates, and that's because Amazon pushes out updates to Alexa on all platforms at once, instead of it being a hardware thing, it's more of a software thing that determines whether it gets updates. Now the original Echo was much larger than the current Echo is, and the audio quality was not as good as the newer one. This makes plenty of sense. Usually a newer version is going to be smaller and better.

With the Echo, you're going to be able to talk to Alexa and ask her to do things like turning on your smart lights, adjusting your thermostat and so much more. Which means that you can control your home with your voice. Talk about futuristic. Alexa can also give you updates on the traffic conditions, as well as answer some basic questions. It's not as great as Google Assistant with many questions.

It can also play music, and you can control that with your voice too. Alexa supports things like Spotify, Amazon Music Unlimited, Deezer and much more. So your favorite music service is likely available on the Echo, which is a good thing to see too.

You can pick up the original Amazon Echo from Woot right now for just $29.99. If you are a Prime member, you can get free shipping (it's not two-day shipping though). If not, make sure to sign up for a free trial of Prime, so you can save $6 on shipping.
