Verizon Fios has just kicked off another great deal for those that are looking to make the jump over to better internet. They are offering a free Samsung Chromebook 3 and three years of router rental fees waived. If you're not interested in the Samsung Chromebook 3, however, Verizon will also offer you $200 off of other Samsung tech. Which is arguably an even better deal.
This promotion works on its higher-end Internet plan, which is $79.99 for 940Mbps down and 880Mbps up. It is also available for the Internet, TV & Phone bundles, that start at $79.99. Allowing you to get plenty of Internet speed, and some good TV channels included. Phone service is also here, but most people don't need that these days anyways – you can just never hook up the phone service, and you'll be fine.
Verizon Fios is heralded as one of the best ISPs in the nation right now. It's not because of their customer service, though they do have customer service, but because of their speeds and pricing. Getting 940Mbps download and 880Mbps upload is pretty insane, never mind the price of just $79.99 per month. Other ISPs like Comcast would charge you that much for just 250Mbps down and about 25Mbps up. AT&T is pretty similar too. So if you do a lot of streaming, or maybe have a lot of people in your home, then Fios is going to be the way to go.
There is a catch, to Verizon Fios service though. It's not a hidden one, which is good. Verizon Fios is only available in a handful of markets, mostly on the east coast. That means that the majority of the US can't even use Verizon Fios. That's very unfortunate for a lot of people (myself included). But that's how things work in the US. There aren't many ISPs to choose from, usually just two, and for most, Fios won't be one of them.
But, on the bright side, Verizon is looking to expand Fios in the next couple of years, so hopefully that happens and does happen pretty quickly. While Verizon Wireless is not everyone's favorite wireless carrier, Fios is quickly becoming everyone's favorite ISP. And with 5G on the horizon, it could really be the future for Verizon Fios.
This promotion from Verizon Fios isn't going to be around forever, so if you are seriously thinking about making the switch from your current ISP over to Verizon Fios, now might be the time to do so. If you don't need the 940/880 plan from Verizon Fios, there is a cheaper plan that's 300Mbps down and 300Mbps up that will net you a free $50 prepaid Visa card from Verizon. Which is also a nice promotion, but not quite as good as the free Samsung Chromebook 3. With that Chromebook, you could replace your laptop, and that's why this deal is likely going to go pretty quickly.
