Verizon announced today, that there are two new phones that are officially available in its stores and on its website. That's the Motorola Moto Z4 and Samsung Galaxy A50, two great mid-range smartphones that won't cost an arm and a leg.

First off, the Moto Z4, which was announced a couple of weeks ago, is actually a 5G-upgradable smartphone. That is thanks to the 5G Moto Mod, it's not free, but for $200 it's a much better way to experience 5G than buying the Galaxy S10 5G at $1300.

Inside the Moto Z4, you'll find a Snapdragon 675 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of storage. There is also a micro SD card slot available for expanding storage, should you need it. There's a pretty decently sized battery pack, rated at 3600mAh. That should get you through a full day on a charge. There is also a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display with a pretty small notch at the top for the camera.

Verizon sells the Moto Z4 for $499 or $20.83 per month, but right now you can get it for just $10 per month for 24 months. That drops the price down to just $240, which is a pretty crazy price, considering this phone just came out. At that price, it makes the Moto Z4 a much better option than at $500.

Then there is the Samsung Galaxy A50. It is specced somewhat similar to the Moto Z4. With a 6.4-inch Full HD+ display, powered by the Exynos 9610 chipset, with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of storage on-board. There is also a micro SD card slot for expanding storage. This is all powered by a much larger 4000mAh capacity battery, that should surely get you through a full day and then some, on a single charge.

Where the Galaxy A50 really stands out though, is with its cameras. There are three cameras on the back. That includes a main sensor that's 25-megapixels with a f/1.7 aperture. Then there is an ultrawide angle sensor that's 8-megapixels with a f/2.2 aperture, and finally a 5-megapixel depth sensor that has a f/2.2 aperture. Samsung decided to forego the telephoto lens on this one, and add in a depth sensor instead. So you will really only be able to switch between wide and ultrawide. For most people, that's going to be perfectly fine though.

The Galaxy A50 is priced at $349 at Verizon. You can also pick it up for just $14.58 per month on Verizon's monthly installment plan. That makes the Galaxy A50 a much better option, but right now it is more expensive than the Moto Z4. Verizon is pricing the Moto Z4 so low, as it is being used as a gateway drug for Verizon to get more people using its 5G network. Since it's a pretty cheap 5G smartphone, that will be available for more users.
