A Sign Of Flagships To Come: HONOR 20 Lite Debuts, Is Crazy-Affordable

The HONOR 20 Lite just got officially announced, well, kind of. The phone got listed on Honor’s official Malaysia website, and along with a ton of its images, the company also listed its specifications and price tag, thus revealing pretty much all details.

HONOR’s brand new mid-range handset is made out of metal and glass, while it comes with really thin bezels. The phone has a tiny dewdrop notch at the top of its display, inside of which you will notice a front-facing camera. Right above that camera and notch, sits the phone’s earpiece.

A “chin” is located below the phone’s display, though that bezel is not thick at all, quite the contrary. All the physical buttons are included on the phone’s right-hand side, including the volume up, volume down, and power / lock buttons. The phone’s display does sport rounded corners, as you can see.

On the back of this device, you will notice a regular, capacitive fingerprint scanner, and the company’s branding. There are three cameras included in the top-left corner of the phone’s back side, and those three cameras are vertically-aligned, while an LED flash is located below them. The phone’s rear-facing cameras do protrude a bit, but that’s something we’re already used to when it comes to modern smartphones.

The HONOR 20 Lite features a 6.21-inch fullHD+ (2340 x 1080) LTPS LCD display, along with 4GB of RAM and 128GB of expandable storage (expandable up to 512GB). The phone includes two SIM card slots (2x nano SIM), and in order to expand its storage, you’ll need to use the second SIM card slot (hybrid setup).

The Kirin 710 64-bit octa-core processor fuels this smartphone, and that is Huawei’s very own mid-range processor. Android 9 Pie comes pre-installed on the phone, while the company’s Emotion UI (EMUI) 9 Android overlay is included on top of it.

A 3,400mAh battery is included on the inside of the device, while 24, 8, and 2-megapixel cameras sit on the back of the device. A 32-megapixel unit is included on the device’s front side, and the phone can shoot fullHD video.

The HONOR 20 Lite does support 4G LTE connectivity with VoLTE, while it measures 154.8 x 73.64 x 7.95mm, and weighs 164 grams. Phantom Red and Phantom Blue colors variants are listed in Malaysia, though it’s possible HONOR will offer some additional options moving forward.

The HONOR 20 Lite is priced at RM949 ($229) in Malaysia, but according to XDA Developers, it will cost £249 in the UK. The phone is expected to become available on May 15 in the UK, and it will be available via Amazon, Carphone Warehouse, Argos, Very, John Lewis, and AO, according to the provided info.

The device will become available in other European countries as well, though it remains to be seen will it arrive on May 15 as in the UK, or will other EU countries have to wait a bit. Whatever the case may be, the HONOR 20 Lite will go on sale before the HONOR 20 flagships get announced. The HONOR 20 and HONOR 20 Pro are scheduled to arrive on May 21.
