OPPO Reno More Colorful Than The Las Vegas Strip

OPPO's as-yet-unannounced handset Reno has cropped up showing again, this time showing all of its colors via renders spotted by Slashleaks contributor Sudhanshu Ambhore on China's TENAA and shared via Twitter. A total of four colors are showcased in the posts, beginning with an almost-black gradient variant listed as "Extreme Night Black." Although a fairly standard color, the graduated nature of the hue means it shifts from a deep black to an almost carbon gray tone toward the top in the renders.

Just behind that are three other colorations that follow a similar shifting pattern. For fans of other dark configuration, a "Fog Sea Green" variant highlights a dark-to-light color that contains almost as much blue as green. From there, a peach-to-rose gold or pink version of the mid-range gadget is shared — dubbed Mist Powder. Finally, a variant called "Nubula Purple" starts out in a deep purple before fading into a shiny fuchsia hue.

In each case, the color seems to extend nearly all around the handsets, with the only exception being the thin black bezel surrounding the display panel.

Colors as predicted and other details

The colors here aren't too surprising since those were predicted in previous leaks and at least one of those has appeared in a previously leaked hands-on video. The names used for those colors are a bit different from expectations but that's not necessarily out of the ordinary either.

The latest images also line up with previous leaks in terms of overall design. The front of the gadget is showcased without any camera punch-hole or notches and the bezel extends at an almost equal width around the entirety of the panel — for a near-bezel-free look. The bottom bezel is slightly larger but not so much that it stands out at first glance.

On the rear panel, reportedly expected at 48-megapixels and five-megapixels, two camera sensors are placed in a vertical orientation. That's set dead-center at the top just as shown in prior leaks. Those are also predicted to feature a 10x hybrid zoom feature.

The selfie camera isn't pictured, likely owing to the fact that it's buried in a triangular-shaped slide-out in the top edge. That's expected to be accompanied by an LED flash and set at 16-megapixels.

The volume buttons line the left-hand edge while the right-hand edge houses the power button, all colored to match the overall body of each gadget.

The images don't give away any internal details but some benchmark-based specs have been revealed for this handset, showcasing some fairly top-notch features. To begin with, it's expected to land with a 3,680mAh battery chargeable via OPPO's 50W VOOC 3.0 fast charging.

The display, resting atop components such as Qualcomm's Snapdragon 710 backed by either 6GB or 8GB options for memory, is presumed to be a 6.4-inch fullHD+ AMOLED panel. That will drive and showcase Android 9 Pie, topped by OPPOS ColorOS 6.0 overlay.

When's the launch?

Details about the upcoming range of devices have been leaking for some time now and this latest proves those are likely to continue right up through the launch of the Chinese manufacturer's new smartphone. The official OPPO Reno launch, based on teasers from the company, will happen on April 10. At least one other variant of this gadget is predicted to land too, sporting three rear cameras and a Snapdragon 855 under the hood with a slightly higher-capacity battery.
