Have you ever wanted to be a part of a well-known GIF / meme? Well, now you can be, thanks to Morphin. This is a relatively new application, it had been released a couple of months ago, but it did not really get traction until recently.
Morphin app is referred to as the “CGI GIF Studio” by the company that made it, company called Uraniom. The premise of this app is simple, it comes with a bunch of popular GIFs, and it can use your face in order to include it in that GIF. So, for example, if you like an Iron Man GIF, and you’d like to be included in it instead of Robert Downey Jr., this app can help you with that, as it can recreate that GIF completely using Uraniom’s algorithms, and create a brand new CGI GIF with your face attached to it.
The very first thing you need to do when you download this application is take a selfie (after you register / log in, that is), as the app will explain to you the moment you launch it. You need to take a selfie in a bright environment, and possibly in front of a bright wall, for best results.
Once you do that, and assign your selfie to your profile, you will be able to access Morphin’s GIF database. There are plenty of GIFs included here, while the company is constantly adding more, which is always a good thing. Some of the most popular GIFs are included here, GIFs starring Nick Jonas, Robert Downey Jr., Leonardo Di Caprio, and so on.
Morphin actually does a really good job when it comes to creating CGI replicas of those GIFs, and it also incorporates your face really well too. Truth be said, I did not expect to see such results, I was expecting much worse implementations, so that was definitely surprising. I stumbled upon this app quite recently, and have actually used it quite a bit until now, creating over a dozen GIFs that I use on a daily basis, as it’s really fun.
Do note that you’ll probably need to wait a bit when you take a selfie, for the app to process it, while you will also have to wait a bit every time you create your personalized GIF, depending on your phone’s hardware power. People have been complaining quite a bit on the Play Store when it comes to Morphin, mentioning all kinds of bugs, and the slowness of the app. Truth be said, I did not experience such issues with my OnePlus 6, but your mileage may vary.
Every time you go to create a new personalized GIF, you will be greeted with some questions to entertain you while you’re waiting. So, for example, if you choose to create an Iron Man GIF, you’ll get questions regarding either the movie itself, or its cast. In most cases, I answered two questions before the app was able to create a GIF, which means you’re looking at only a couple of seconds of wait time, which is not bad at all. As already mentioned, though, your experience may differ.
Morphin is currently free to download in the Google Play Store, while the app weighs almost 100MB, so keep that in mind before you download it, as it would be best if you connect to Wi-Fi before you proceed. You can download the app from the link down below (Play Store), while we’ve also included an image gallery for you to check out before you get on with it.
