Amazon has discounted the price of the Nokia 6.1 smartphone, dropping the price down to $199. This is good for $70 off of the regular price, and actually brings it down to its all-time lowest price. Prior to this, the lowest price was around $229, so it's a pretty good price. And if you are looking for a decent smartphone, without a notch, this is a really good option to pick up.
The Nokia 6.1 was announced earlier this year from HMD Global, and it's a pretty high-end feeling smartphones, especially for the sub-$300 price range. It is made from a solid block of aluminum Series 6000, and has distinctive two-tone anodized diamond cut edges. This is what gives it a really good feel in the hand, but also look really nice. The Nokia 6.1 is also running Android Oreo out of the box, and there is an Android 9 Pie update waiting for it once you turn it on. This is because the Nokia 6.1 is part of the Android One platform, so it is getting updates quite quickly, and it actually received Android Pie a few weeks ago. This makes it one of the only smartphones to have Android Pie right now, which is rather impressive.
HMD Global outfitted the Nokia 6.1 with a 5.5-inch full HD display, and it has the Snapdragon 630 chipset running the show here. That is paired with 3GB of RAM and 32GB of storage. It also has a pretty decently sized battery, with a capacity of 3000mAh. That should last you all day long, but if it doesn't, there is also Quick Charge 3.0 included which will get you around 50-percent battery in just about 30 minutes. For cameras, there is a 16-megapixel sensor on the back. This is not a dual-camera setup, even though the design may look like it is. That 16-megapixel camera was built with Nokia's partnership with Carl Zeiss, so it is a really good camera, especially on a smartphone in this price range. The Nokia 6.1 was announced in 2018, and while it might not be the most powerful smartphone that is on the market right now, for just $199, it is a really awesome option for those that want something that's great but won't break the bank.
