Amazon is currently dropping the price of Samsung's Galaxy Watch even lower. It was already on sale by about $50, and now Amazon has dropped the price another $50. Bringing both models down to all-new low prices. The Galaxy Watch 42mm comes in at $279 and the Galaxy Watch 46mm is now $299. These prices make the Galaxy Watch an absolute must-buy, especially if you were looking for a new smartwatch right now. It is also a great gift to pick up, seeing as the holiday season is nearly upon us.
The Galaxy Watch was announced by Samsung back in August with the new Galaxy Note 9. It is the company's latest smartwatch, with all of the latest features. It still sports that rotating bezel which is not only cool, but also works pretty well for navigating through the operating system. Speaking of operating system, the Galaxy Watch does still run on Tizen, instead of Wear OS. This means that it does run on Android and iOS, but it doesn't work with the existing Wear OS apps. Tizen doesn't have a huge app store, but it does have enough apps available to make it worthwhile. The Galaxy Watch does also have better battery life than many of the other smartwatches on the market. The 42mm Galaxy Watch will last you around two days, while the larger 46mm model will get almost double that. It's still not quite a week like many may want to have on a smartwatch, but it is far better than the single day of battery life that many Wear OS smartwatches boast right now. The Galaxy Watch will work with Android smartphones, since Samsung Health, Gear and other apps are now in the Play Store, so you will actually get the same experience as on any other Samsung smartphone, which is a nice touch. The Galaxy Watch comes in 42mm and 46mm sizes. The 42mm comes in rose gold and black while the 46mm comes in just silver. The thought process behind these colors is that only men are going to want the 46mm size Galaxy Watch, because they normally have larger wrists. While women will want the smaller one, so it's in Rose Gold and black - which goes with everything.
This is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. However, if you are in one of the select areas that has Prime Now, this is also available and you can get it within a couple of hours, if you are in desperate need. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $119/year (or $59/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits. That includes Amazon Prime Video, Twitch Prime, and even some benefits at Whole Foods.
