Amazon Kicks Off The Holiday Shopping Season With “Early Black Friday” Deals & Curated Gift Guides

Amazon has decided to kick off its curated gift guides and special early Black Friday deals today, November 1. While many will believe that this is still far to early to be decorating for the holidays, Amazon doesn’t think it’s too early to start shopping for the holidays. Amazon has created four different gift guides, that are curated to help you find the perfect gift for everyone on your list. There’s a gift guide for Electronics, Home, Fashion and Holiday Toys. These gift guides are also broken down further, so you are bound to find something worth picking up this holiday season. These gift guides are great to check out, especially if you are planning to shop on Black Friday and/or Cyber Monday, so you can get your list together and only buy the stuff you need.

With this holiday season, Amazon is touting that it offers same-day delivery to even more locations than before. Allowing “tens of millions” of Prime members to order products from Amazon, and get it delivered to their home within two hours. Of course, if you are not in one of those markets, you can still get discounted next-day delivery and free two-day delivery. Finally, Amazon offers two-hour delivery from local Whole Foods Market stores, in about 60 cities. This is going to make the holiday feast a breeze to make. These are all Amazon Prime benefits, and if you aren’t already a member, you’re going to want to sign up, which you can do so here.

As always, you can use Alexa to make the holiday planning easier than ever. You can get help from Alexa on how to cook that Butterball Turkey for Thanksgiving - which is only a few weeks away. Amazon is also shipping real Christmas trees right now. Ranging from 10 to 14-inch trees that you can set on a table, to the larger six or seven foot tall Fraser Firs, Balsam Firs, Black Hills Spruces and more. Amazon also ships these all for free as long as they are over $25. Finally, Amazon is offering exclusive access to It’s a Wonderful Life on Prime Video. This makes it the first time that this particular title has been included in a subscription streaming service.

Background: Amazon usually starts its shopping season pretty early, and that is because Amazon wants to capitalize on all of the shopping that everyone will be doing this time of year. This is Amazon’s biggest time of the year, which shouldn’t be a surprise. Every year, it seems like Amazon starts its Black Friday deals earlier and earlier, but now it looks like they are only starting on November 1, right after Halloween. While Amazon hasn’t unleashed its biggest deals just yet - those are saved for later this month - you can still get some nice deals and Amazon is going to be offering even more Gold Box Deals of the Day than they normally do throughout the year.

The gift guides that Amazon offer are pretty robust, and do make it a good way to find something for everyone on your list. For example, in the Electronics Gift Guide, you’ll find some sub-categories, including a category of options under $100, Gizmos & Gadgets, Gaming, Audio & Accessories, Smart Home and so much more. So that no matter who is on your list, you’re going to be able to find something for everyone, which is definitely a good thing here. Some of these products in these gift guides are actually on sale already, so you can pick them up now. It’s important to note that not everything goes on sale for Black Friday, or sees super steep discounts. So some of the stuff that is on sale now, might not be on sale for Black Friday, or may not be discounted as much as they are now. So it’s still a good time to buy stuff now.

Impact: Amazon is looking to milk this holiday season, especially since shoppers have more money this year, due to the tax break that President Trump signed into law last December. Though, Amazon did mention that it expects to see a slower holiday shopping season this year, it is still expecting to hit a new record for revenue as well as for items sold in the quarter. Which happens virtually every year for Amazon, but it’s still pretty impressive. This year, Black Friday falls on November 23, with Cyber Monday falling on November 26th. That is actually pretty early for both of those days this year, it’s usually a bit closer to December. The deals will really kick off the week of Thanksgiving, as many retailers are looking to get customers in the door before Black Friday. Of course, you’ll want to keep your eyes peeled to Android Headlines for the latest deals and sales going on this holiday season.
