Amazon Celebrates Alexa's 4th Birthday With Echo, Smart Plug & Other Discounts

Amazon's voice assistant, Alexa, is about to celebrate it's fourth birthday on Tuesday, and to celebrate Amazon has discounted some Echo smart speakers as well as other Alexa-enabled products. These prices will be good now through November 6 only. So you'll want to pick these up before they are gone, or back to their regular price.

Starting off with smart speakers, the second-generation Echo Dot is discounted to $29.99. That is Black Friday pricing for the second-generation Echo Dot, and hasn't been that price since Prime Day back in July. This is the older Echo Dot, but it is still a great smart speaker to pick up and bring Alexa into your home. Now if you do want the newer Echo Dot, you can purchase two and save $20. That's effectively $40 each for the Echo Dot (third-generation). There is also the second-generation Echo, which is discounted to $79.99, taking $20 off of its regular price - similar to the Echo Dot listed above. The Echo has a fabric finish, which looks great but also improves the audio quality thanks to Amazon working with Dolby to tune the audio on this one. Both are really great speakers, but if you are looking for something that sounds a bit better, well Amazon has a few deals available for you, still. You can purchase the Marshall Woburn II, B&O Beoplay A1 Natural or the Anker SoundCore Sport XL, and get the Echo Input for free. The Echo Input will essentially make your speaker, a smart one and controlled by Amazon Alexa. There is also the iHome AV2 which you can pick up and get the Echo Input included, but it is half priced instead of free. Still a really great bundle to take advantage of. Now those that are looking for a smart display with Alexa built-in, there is also the Echo Show. Purchase two Echo Show (second-generation), and you can get $100 knocked off of the price. Now a lot of these are bundle deals, which means you can pick up a second one at a discount and use it as a gift this holiday season. As these will all make some great deals.

There are a few other deals going on for Alexa-enabled products, especially for your living room. The Logitech Harmony Hub and the third-generation Echo Dot is $50 off of its regular price. That brings the price down to just $100. The Harmony Hub is going to allow you to control virtually everything in your home using this one remote, and that includes the smart lights in your home. It works with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, so you can actually control your TV with your voice which is pretty impressive. You can also get the second-generation Echo Dot and the original Fire TV Stick (the non-4K model) for $70, which is about $10 off of its regular price. The Polk Command Soundbar is also on sale, which has an Echo Dot built right into the soundbar. The Polk Command Soundbar is dropping $100 off of its price tag, so you can get it for just $199. For a soundbar that sounds as good as this one, and has a wireless subwoofer, this is a really great deal.

Now if none of those tickle your fancy, there's still more available. The Anker Roav Viva smart car charger is discounted to $39.99. This car charger has two USB ports, but it also has Amazon Alexa, allowing you to take Alexa on the road and use her to get you to where you need to go. There is also the Acer laptop that has Alexa included, which is now $760, that's good for $140 off of the regular price. The First Alert Onelink Safe and sound  is discounted about $50 as well, bringing it down to just $199. There is also a two-pack of Wemo smart plugs on sale today, knocking $25 off of the regular price. Amazon is also discounting lighting starter kits with the Echo (second-generation), so if you were looking to start making your home a smart one, now is definitely the time to do that. These deals won't last long, so you're going to want to take advantage of them before they are gone.

Finally, if you've been looking to sign up for Audible, but wanted a great deal to take advantage of. Well, you can sign up for Audible on Alexa and get four audio-books included for free. Audible is typically $14.95 per month, and you can listen to two books per month with that subscription. That is a pretty good deal, seeing as these books typically cost around $20 each by themselves. And of course, Audible can read these audio-books on the Echo or other Alexa device, which is rather impressive. There is a ton of great Amazon Alexa deals going on right now, for Alexa's fourth birthday, and it'll be good now through November 6, so you are going to want to take advantage of these before they are gone. Especially since a number of these never really drop in price, and now they have. It's a good time to get started early in crossing gifts off of your holiday gift list. Seeing as Alexa devices do make great holiday gifts, especially something like the Polk Command soundbar that has Alexa built in.

This is also eligible for Amazon Prime's free shipping. Which includes free two-day shipping, and pretty cheap (usually $3.99) next-day shipping if you need it extra fast. However, if you are in one of the select areas that has Prime Now, this is also available and you can get it within a couple of hours, if you are in desperate need. If you are not an Amazon Prime member yet, you can sign up for a free trial of Amazon Prime. You'll get 30 days free (if you're a student, you get 6 months), and then it's $119/year (or $59/year for students). Prime members do get a whole lot more than just free shipping though, so be sure to check out the full benefits. That includes Amazon Prime Video, Twitch Prime, and even some benefits at Whole Foods.
